Have you heard of it? It is about the establishment of a platform for the Austrian water industry on the way to the European stage. You will say that something like this certainly already exists. The astonishing answer is "yes and no" - of course the interests are represented in Brussels and Austria has many excellent platforms, such as the Federal Environment Agency, the ÖWAV - www.oewav.at, the universities (Boku, TU, Innsbruck, Graz, etc.), ÖVGW - www.oevgw.at, etc. So far, the forces have only been bundled in partial areas, which often leads to coexistence. Austria has not yet been included in some programs.
To be there means to obtain funding and to represent and support the local economy and science.
Here's an example:
If you now move this page to the page "Joint Water Initiative"go, you will find that Austria was not involved in the previous calls either. That means not being involved in the decisions of important European programs and not receiving any funding from them.
The example of our drinking water supply and wastewater disposal infrastructure shows that a strong water management would make sense. It is often over 50 years old and needs resources and know-how for the necessary renewals to be shown.
We wish the people involved a lot of success in bundling their strengths with the aim of keeping Austria's strong water management and know-how fit for future challenges and making the expertise available internationally. THE END
