According to Right2Water, there are quality problems with drinking water for 20 million people in Europe. Last year, the EU Commission therefore submitted proposals for a revision of the drinking water directive, which is around 20 years old. This provides for a better supply and access to tap water is also to be improved. Improving information on water quality and services for consumers aims to increase the consumption of drinking water.
