Science is pretty much in agreement that suitable (!) Air purifiers can significantly reduce the virus load indoors. Of course, this is not the only measure and does not replace e.g. keeping your distance or regular ventilation. The consumer advice center points out clearly to choose a device that is also suitable to provide the required preventive service. These include:
- Adapt the device dimensions to the room size / number of people
- The filter must be virus-compatible (e.g. HEPA class 13)
- The devices must not generate any harmful substances (such as ozone)
The Blueair devices met these requirements and are suitable as a preventive measure.
The Spiegel science department has also dedicated itself to the topic of "Air Purifiers and Corona" - here is the link to Original article.
